Each year you arrive at the perfect time
Bringing rays of sun
Through my windows to shine
Giving me hope as your time has only begun
The days grow longer
And just as I thought winter would never end
I grew even stronger
And now walk through the cherry blossoms with a friend
Without you I would wither
Yet you sent a sign with your purple flowers
Because you are a beautiful giver
Who helps me grow throughout the hours
I admire the yellow daffodils lining the streets
Seeing all of your beauty
As I walk along under the sun’s heat
Slowly becoming a Portland foodie
It is because of you I move forward with resolve
As I sit on my front lawn
Practicing gratitude for it all
And welcoming a new day at dawn
